Your developer left. Your app still has to work.
We take over apps and business software that someone else built. First we secure the access and read the code, then we fix what’s urgent, and then we keep it healthy every month, without a risky rewrite.
Code and risk review first · Monthly care plans · No long contracts
Sound familiar?
The developer stopped replying
A freelancer finished most of the work and then went quiet, with the passwords still in their head.
The agency got slow or expensive
Small changes take weeks, invoices keep growing, and nobody can explain why.
There’s no documentation
The app runs, but nobody on your side knows how, or what would break if something changed.
It’s built on something outdated
The framework or language version is past its support date, and updates keep getting postponed.
It crashes and nobody knows why
Customers report errors before you see them, and every fix seems to cause another problem.
You’re worried about security
Old accounts still have access, packages haven’t been updated in years, and backups were never tested.
A half-built project stalled
You paid for most of a build, it isn’t finished, and you’re not sure what you actually have.
What happens in the first two weeks
Before any new feature, we make sure your company owns the app and knows what state it’s in.
Access secured
Source code, hosting, domains, app stores and third-party services moved into accounts your company owns.
Code reviewed
Engineers read the codebase, run it locally and map how the pieces fit together.
Hosting and backups checked
We confirm where everything runs, what it costs, and whether a backup can actually be restored.
A written report
Risks in plain language, quick fixes we can make straight away, and a recommended plan with costs.
Then, at the pace you choose
Urgent fixes
Crashes, security gaps and anything that blocks your customers come first.
Documentation
How to run, deploy and change the app, written down so you’re never stuck again.
Gradual modernization
Outdated parts replaced one module at a time, checked against the old version, never in one big switch.
A monthly care plan
Updates, monitoring, backups and small improvements, with a summary of what was done each month.
A legacy portal replaced screen by screen, while officers kept using it
A US provider of GPS and sobriety monitoring for community-supervision agencies had an ageing officer portal that was hard to change. We moved it to React 19, Vite and Tailwind one module at a time, without changing the back end it relied on.
- Every legacy screen replaced, one module at a time
- 71 automated checks comparing old and new
- No change to the back end
Technologies we take over
If your app uses something else, ask. We’ll tell you honestly whether we’re the right team.
Remote, from any state
Most takeovers happen online, wherever you are in the US.
Calls in your time zone
Urgent work and check-ins scheduled around your day.
On site when useful
Handover meetings and workshops at your office, anywhere in the US.
Dallas home base
Your project lead works from our office in Dallas, Texas.
App takeover and maintenance questions
What if we don’t have the source code or the passwords?
It happens more often than you’d think. We help you recover what you can: from the hosting account, the app stores, your domain registrar and old emails. If the code truly can’t be recovered, we tell you what that means and what it would take to rebuild only the parts you need.
Will you rewrite everything?
Usually not. Rewrites are expensive and risky. We keep what works, fix what doesn’t, and replace outdated parts one at a time, checking each against the old version.
Which technologies do you work with?
React, Angular, Next.js, Java and Spring Boot, .NET, Flutter, and cloud setups on AWS, Azure DevOps and OpenShift. For anything else we’ll say plainly whether we can help.
How fast can you start?
Often within a few business days of the first call. If your app is down right now, say so in your message and we’ll prioritize the first steps.
What does a care plan include?
Security and framework updates, monitoring, tested backups, bug fixes and small improvements, a named point of contact in our Dallas team, and a short written summary every month.
Can you help if we’re not in Texas?
Yes. We work with businesses anywhere in the US, mostly remotely, with calls in your time zone and on-site visits when they help.
Is your app down right now?
